I have a dream
[李天同参加"全国青少年英语技能大赛总决赛"朗诵文稿][原创]
We will never forget the day, May twelfth, two thousand eight, a strong earthquake hit Sichuan, China. The day many people lost their homes and many schools became ruin. The day many parents lost their lovely children and many children became orphans. What a terrible day!
On that day, I had a dream that all people suffering the disaster were safe, all the missing people could be rescued, all the injured people could be treated, and all the separated people could meet their families again.
On that day, I had a dream that all students from quake areas would tomorrow study in new classrooms, which were bigger, brighter and safer than the past ones. Singing, reading and laughing would appear in every school.
On that day, I believed that my dream would come true because I found all Chinese stayed with Sichuan people hand in hand. Just five hours after the disaster happened, our premier appeared in the center of earthquake affected area, all Chinese took actions immediately, and lots of help quickly came to Sichuan. Most people around me, my parents, my classmates and my teachers, did our best to help them, some donated money or blood, some wrote letters, and some became volunteers.
In fact, my dream is coming true. Today, there are some students from Sichuan here. In this year, we really have suffered a lot. However, this year is a special year, Beijing Olympic Games will open on August eighth.
So I have a dream today. I hope the Beijing Olympic Games will bring good luck to the Chinese, especially to Sichuan people. Let the Olympic torch cure the pains, let the Olympic torch color the mountains green, let the Olympic torch light the hope of all Chinese.
Come on Sichuan, Come on Beijing, Come on China.
